Useful information when you plan to take the camera on a trip or buy used camera. I had hoped Gphoto2 running on my preferred Linux, with its command line only interface, would read the count, but it too doesn't support the M5. Eosmsg is a nasty, frustrating app, and connection is spotty, but I finally managed to connect, and it reported a "Shotcount" of 10222 (and unsurprisingly, a "Mirrorcount" of 0). ![]() I wasn't keen on blowing even $7 in case it didn't work with the M5, but it seems that it does work. I've got a growing list of gripes about its design and functionality but I just can't put it down.īased on the single comment in the quoted Shutter Count thread, where someone confirmed that Eosmsg worked for their M5, I gave it a shot. ![]()
